I had intended to write a thankful post last Thursday. I didn’t mean to start a series and leave it hanging, and I know that good intentions don’t get the job done. But I have a good excuse. At least, I think so.
You see, I was planning a surprise visit to my mom’s as a late Mother’s Day gift. (She lives 5 1/2 hours away on the other end of the state.) On Thursday, I was baking all manner of goodies to take to her. Then we packed and went to bed so we could get up at 4:30 the next morning.
Oh, you say you would like to have those goodies in lieu of this post? I’m sorry. Truly I am. But there aren’t any left. Unfortunately, I don’t even have pictures of the coconut muffins, granola bars, chicken casserole, strawberry pie, and homemade whipped topping. Next time I promise I will try to at least take pictures for you to drool over.
For now, I present you with some thankful moments from the past week:
Friday: We had a safe and relatively “quick” trip to see my parents. It “only” took us 4 hours and 45 minutes to get there because we left so early in the morning. That is 45 minutes shorter than usual! And I had a great time visiting my mom!
Saturday: So many things to be thankful for this day! My favorite? Seeing the Smoky Mountains for the first time. They are so beautiful.
Sunday: I got to talk to my dear friend Rachel.
Monday: Caleb and I enjoyed delicious drinks at a local coffee shop AND I got a phone call from my brother.
Tuesday: I was thankful for a good night’s sleep and fresh eggs and veggies from a local farm.
Wednesday: I was able to add my husband on our credit card as a joint user so he can start building credit, even though it didn’t look like that would be possible at first. Now I’m thankful he was turned down on those other credit card applications. That means less for me to manage!
Today: I had a fun time shopping with my mother in law.
Now it’s YOUR turn. What are you thankful for?
